Appalaigunta is a situated 15 KM from Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh . The place has got a great historical significance.  The temple is constructed by rajas of karvetnagaram as it had the shrine of the wind god- who is believed to give relief from dangerous diseases.  Lord venkateshwara hailed in different forms- mohini avataram  , Kalyana rupam , Prasana rupam etc.. The one at Appalaigunta is the Prasanna rupam or Prasanna Venkateshwara swami.  The significance of the lord here is that the ABHAYA HASTAM ( the left hand ) will be upright instead of pointing downwards. It signifies that  the lord always showers happiness in the lives of people.

All the sevas that are performed at Tirumala are performed here too. Saturday turns out to be the most auspicious day and people from the vicinity of the village come to have a darshan of the lord..The temple is very quite and calm situated in an typical indian village. This temple can be seen not only as a pilgrim center but there is  great beauty here too. Lush greenery every where makes it a good picnic spot for a family. Always remember to take a TULASI garland for the god as he likes it very much.
