Types of Sunderkand

Sunderkand done in any form yields benefits. However in order to get more benefit as well as the convenience and the gravity of the problem the Sunderkand is broadly divided into three forms:
  • Musical Sunderkand
  • Homatmak Sunderkand or Sunderkand Havan
  • Sunderkand Mahatmay

  •  Musical Sunderkand:

As we know that music has tremendous positive vibration. When the same is accompanied by the Siddh and Pious mantras of Sunderkand it generates tremendous power and soothing effect. The recitation is done along with the instruments viz. Tabla, Dholak, Keyboard, Manjira, Khanjri, and in some cases with Octopade etc. This is more effective and enjoyable when the Sunderkand is done in group. The primary condition in this type of Sunderkand is that it has to be a continuous one and without break at the same time the Sadhak should not get up or move around. Mobiles are to be switched off and no intra talking is allowed. This is in order to get the maximum benefits. The Paath starts by “Aahwan” (invitation to shree Hanumanji) and ends with “Bidai”. In case of our Musical Sunderkand the Tabla is being played by shri Dhavalkumar himself. The ideal time for musical Sunderkand is after 7pm.The first verse is recited by shri Dhavalkumar and the second verse by the chorus. The group is told to sing second verse loudly along with the chorus.

  •  Sunderkand Havan

The Vedas have given tremendous importance to Havan of any kind. The Havans produce lot of positive energy not only in the Sadhak’s mind and body but also in the surroundings Based on the problems the main ingredients of the havan are decided, however in general it is dried Cow dung, Jav, Teel, Ghee, Havan samagri, Googal and Fruits. The offerings of ghee are done at the end of each verse in the “Kund”. In case of Havan it is advisable to wear red unstitched clothes viz. dhoti. The asana of Shri Hanumanji should be red and that of Sadhak should also be red. A rose garland is necessary on the pratima of Shri Hanumanji. Shri Hanumanji pratima should face south direction. Before sitting for Havan a bath is compulsory and washing of pratima by Ganga jal is advisable. There are four different types of Havan based on the problems of the host.

  •  Sunderkand Mahatmay

Mahatmay means the importance of Sunderkand. This is normally to be done by the preachers or the spiritual leaders or those who want to be in social service or those who believe in studying the Sunderkand and sharing it with the masses. In this form of Sunderkand all verses of Sunderkand is explained in detail in terms of its meaning, the hidden message lying in it and also how to utilize to remove the worldly worries. For this an individual has to do lot of study, very few can do this and mythologically it is believed that the preachers doing this get the ‘Moksha’ and his 'Atma' merges with the Supreme soul - 'Brahma'. Normally each Doha takes minimum 15 minutes, which accompanied by Bhajan and examples would cross 20 hours.
